Landlords, like virtually every other profession, are learning to adjust to the current state of the country. These are unique times, and certainly trying times as well. Aiming to assist landlords, we’ve collected some materials that provide some help during the current, and any future, pandemic.

First, is the Pandemic Guide for Real Estate Managers, prepared by the Institute of Real Estate Managers (IREM). This guide focuses on making a plan to proceed with business, and getting those involved with the business on board as well. To view the guide, click here.

For information regarding tenants, in reference to paying rent, Rentec Direct has posted an article with lots of information on the topic, including links to find more localized information. To view the article, entitled, “Do I Have to Pay Rent: COVID-19 Rent Questions Answered,” click here.

Finally, Rentec Direct has also put together an informative article regarding property maintenance, and best practices for handling maintenance during a time when social distancing is key to combating spread of the virus. Click here to view the full article, “Property Maintenance During COVID-19.”

These are just a few of the plethora of resources available online. Working together, with good communication, will be key to achieving the best possible outcome. Be smart. Be safe. Be empathetic.
